Su Xuelan

Xuelan Su is a Chinese literary translator living in Seattle, Washington. Her translations of A Hua have been published in Alchemy – A Journal of Translation, Lunch Ticket and Ballast. Her work with co-translator Ziying Fan, have appeared in The Northwest Linguist, LIT Magazine, Book of Matches, Rhino, and in Boundless: Anthology of the Rio Grande Valley International Poetry Festival (2024, 2025). As well, their translation of A Hua’s “Blooming Like Flowers, Full Like the Moon” was long-listed in the 2023 Stephen Spender International Poetry-in-Translation Contest. Xuelan’s translation of A Hua’s poem “What Makes My Heart Swell” with co-translator Kexin Song was published in the most recent issue of Book of Matches.
